The aroma is strong, very fruity and elegant, with intense tropical fruits like grapefruit white part, mango, a faint peat, creme brulee. When drinking, it spreads into a rich tropical fruit flavor, grapefruit and its white part, slightly white grapes, a bit strong but good woodiness, pleasant peat, cream. The power is not very high but the aftertaste is long.
【Very Good/Excellent】
From the Kingsbury Celtic series, Bowmore 1966, 35 year old, cask number 3300, a well-known bottle. It was opened for the 15th anniversary of Campbelltown Loch in Ginza.
The aroma is strong and spreading with fruity notes, as expected, the fruits like grapefruit white part and mango explode. There is a nuance of creme brulee, the peat is present but gentle.
When drinking, you can fully enjoy the tropical flavor of 1960s Bowmore. Perhaps due to long aging, the peat is indeed gentle and the oak woodiness feels slightly stronger but not unpleasant.
The body is not very strong, but the aftertaste remains long and fruity.
It's a typical Bowmore 1966 aroma centered around Duncan Taylor, but with some thickness and a slightly matured bitterness that is not too harsh.
A unique, intoxicating fruity flavor. Although it doesn't exceed expectations as the aroma memory is firmly stored in my mind, I still get captivated every time I drink it.
Especially since this is a well-known bottle that has become very expensive and there are many fakes circulating, the next opportunity to drink it may not come soon.
