Bottle #グレンバーギー(GLENBURGIE)
As expected, it was a rich and delicious Burgie.
Glenburgie GLENBURGIE 1966 GM "CASK" 61.2%
The aroma features plum and apricot jam, caramel sauce, herbs, toasted barley, strong woodiness, a faint hinoki (Japanese cypress), resin, sap, rich, and upon drinking it has a concentrated apricot jam with a strong, sweet body, boiled-down black tea, tannins that add depth to the flavor without being harsh, and a very long, rich finish.
【Very Good】
This is the Glenburgie 1966, 61.2%, from the GM CASK label.
This bottle was opened last year at Yorochōchō, and we had previously published a tasting note. However, due to concerns about its condition, the same bottle was opened again.
Compared to last year's tasting note, there were no significant changes, and fortunately, the bottle condition did not seem to be an issue.
The aroma is rich and complex with fruits, barley, and woodiness, as expected. It's heavy, powerful, and rich but the woodiness is balanced enough not to be off-putting. It's exactly as we had experienced before, a tasting note that deepens the flavor with its woodiness.
It was not only enjoyable to taste a delicious bottle, but also meaningful in confirming my own senses.
