Bottle #ノッカンドゥ(KNOCKANDO)
It showed a slightly stronger old character, but it's still fruity and delicious. KNOCKANDO KNOCKANDO 1967-1979 OB 43% The aroma has a strong old character with refreshing fruitiness, grapefruit, peach mineral water, apple, dried barley, well water, and tar-like dried peat in the background. When drinking, it has a smooth mouthfeel with old white wine, grapefruit, peach mineral water, refined sweetness and acidity from juice, tar-like peatiness, and a pleasant aftertaste. [Good/Very Good] The KNOCKANDO 1967 bottled in 1979, aged for approximately 12 years. I have tasted the same bottle before, and when comparing it to this one, there were quite a few differences. Both have diverse and intoxicating fruity notes, but this one has a slightly stronger old character, with a concentrated yet smooth texture and dried nuances. The peach mineral water and white wine notes I perceived in both aroma and flavor seem to have become more pronounced due to bottle aging. Bottles like this often show quick evaporation after opening, and I think the fact that I drank it near the last shot might have influenced this. Of course, there's also my own issue in tasting; I think the stronger peatiness detected this time compared to last time is because I focused too much on the good fruity notes last time. Although this bottle showed a strong old character, it wasn't dried out and unappetizing; instead, it was sufficiently fruity and interesting to feel the bottle aging more clearly. When drinking the same bottle, I often write similar comments, which can be reassuring, but it's also fun to think about the reasons when they differ, like this case.
