Bottle #スプリングバンク(SPRINGBANK)
The Springbank from the 60s is indeed exceptional. Springbank SPRINGBANK 1967-1999 31yo SINGLE CASK COLLECTION #1560 53.1% one of 135 bottles, Bourbon Cask The aroma is fruity with a sense of maturity and an intoxicating character, featuring strawberry jam, apricot jam, vanilla, light coconut, and subtle peat. Upon drinking, it has a smooth mouthfeel with strawberry jam, coconut milk, and a rich sweetness. The woody character is solid but not overly tannic, leaving a long, intoxicating finish. Selected by Mr. Moriyama and bottled by Alan Japan (now Whisky), this single cask is from Springbank 1967 and 1999 bottlings. A very fruity malt typical of 60s Springbank, it also exhibits vanilla and coconut-like nuances, along with creamy undertones. Despite its robust woody character, the aroma remains balanced and intoxicating, reaffirming how exceptional Springbank from this era is. Interestingly, the strawberry jam-like note I usually associate with sherry cask Springbank from this period was surprisingly present in this bottle as well.
