Glen Garioch 1968 29 Year Old Official #13

Glen Garioch GLENGARIOCH 1968 29yo OB #13 56.5%
Bottle #グレンギリー(GLENGARIOCH)
A rare 60s Glen Garioch, slightly tired from drinking but still delivered a delicious taste without fail. Glen Garioch GLENGARIOCH 1968 29yo OB #13 56.5% The aroma has a slightly noble sherry, prunes, rich berry jam, strong bouquet garni herbs, bitter chocolate-dipped dry orange, sweet caramel sauce, tree sap, rich, and from the smooth mouthfeel it expands into a sweet-sour berry jam, American coffee, strong mint. The sweetness of berries and caramel sauce is strong but the woodiness is also strong, with a good balance of herbs and coffee bitterness to tighten the flavor. The good sherry finish is not too long. 【Very Good】 The official Glen Garioch 1968, a single cask aged for 29 years. Although not specified, it seems to be a sherry cask with a strong sherry character accompanied by slightly noble nuances. It has rich fruity notes of jam and dried fruits, strong bouquet garni-like herbal nuances, and diverse elements from the cask that give a rich aroma. When drinking, it has the diverse fruity notes and strong herbal, mint characteristics as imagined from the aroma, along with a sense of strong woody notes and bitterness. Unexpectedly, there was little peat. It's a very diverse, rich, and complex malt with excellent deliciousness, but it is also a type where the tannins and woodiness dominate from the cask. It's an excellent bottle to experience the character of old sherry casks, and it had a very good reputation around. However, my recent preference has been leaning towards types that don't cause drinking fatigue. Also, this bottle felt like the tannins and woodiness would soften, so I actually wanted to drink it again before finishing but missed the chance due to a touch difference. Regretful... #Glen Garioch (GLENGARIOCH)
