Clynelish CLYNELISH 1969-2005 35yo GM PRIVATE COLLECTION #5893 45% One of 93 bottles, Refill Sherry Hogshead
Bottle #クライヌリッシュ(CLYNELISH)
60s Clynelish. A distillery I like, but it's rarely available. Clynelish CLYNELISH 1969-2005 35yo GM PRIVATE COLLECTION #5893 45% One of 93 bottles, Refill Sherry Hogshead The aroma has old sherry, concentrated apricot and berry jam, butter sand with raisins, strongly waxy, faint herbs, cream. When drinking, it has a smooth mouthfeel with viscous texture, pleasant sherry, wax, strong brewed apricot tea, gentle but rich, a stronger sweetness and subtle tannins, slightly oily with a pleasant long finish. 【Very Good】 This is a Clynelish 1969, 35-year-old single cask from GM's private collection. I have little experience with Clynelish from the 60s, and I've only had this bottle a few times before. This time it was several years since my last try. Overall, the aroma is wrapped in a classic old sherry feel typical of the 60s, but within that, I could sense Clynelish's characteristics like waxy notes and apricot tea-like qualities. While many bottles from this distillery tend to have a more pronounced house style, this bottle stands out for integrating sherry and house style seamlessly due to its long aging and bottle variation. The smoothness and drinkability were also very impressive and appealing.
