Bottle #スプリングバンク(SPRINGBANK)
The charm of Springbank from the 1960s sherry cask was clearly felt. Springbank SPRINGBANK 1969-2004 35yo DUN BHEAGAN #148 50%, one of 516 bottles, BUTT The aroma is vibrant and strong, with good sherry notes, strawberry jam, grape juice, long-aged Cognac, good woody character, rich and complex. Upon drinking, it starts with a smooth mouthfeel that expands into a fragrant profile, featuring strong fruity notes of strawberry jam and grape juice, with some viscosity and a grainy texture. It has a rich sweetness with briny undertones, supported by a slightly oily and moist peatiness. Rich and long-lasting pleasant finish. 【Very Good】 The Springbank 1969 from Dun Bheagan, aged for 35 years. It is believed to have been matured in a sherry butt. The aroma is vibrant and strong, with subtle notes of strawberry jam, grape juice, and an intoxicating scent reminiscent of Cognac. Upon tasting, it is rich and fragrant, with a clear presence of strawberry jam and grape juice notes. The texture feels concentrated and chewy. A dense sweetness from the jam-like flavors is complemented by briny elements, while peatiness supports the overall profile. Without the high expectations associated with vintage Springbank, this would have easily earned a VG/E rating. It is an attractive sherry-style Springbank that met expectations fully. I received this bottle from Fingal in Kagurazaka. #Springbank (SPRINGBANK)
