Bottle #グレンドロナック(GLENDRONACH)
A wonderful old sherry. GlenDronach GLENDRONACH 1970-1990 SAMAROLI 43% one of 480 bottles, SHERRY CASKS The aroma is an intoxicating old sherry with notes of black sugar, over-burnt caramel sauce, berry jam, premium Shaoxing wine, mirin, balsamic vinegar, herbal liqueur, coffee or bitter chocolate, clove, leaf mold, complex and rich. Upon drinking, it expands from a velvety smooth mouthfeel into an aromatic depth of berry jam, black sugar, caramel sauce, coffee, leaf mold, the sweet richness of berry jam with a deep, well-balanced tannic finish from herbal liqueur. It is rich and complex with a warmth reminiscent of sitting by the fireplace, leaving a long finish. 【Very Good/Excellent】 This is GlenDronach 1970 bottled by Samaroli in 1990. From the very first sniff, an intense and intoxicating old sherry character explodes, followed by a succession of diverse elements as described above, making the nosing experience quite busy and enjoyable. Particularly notable were the nuances of Shaoxing wine or mirin, along with a strong earthy character typical of GlenDronach. Upon drinking, there was a powerful expansion from a rich, velvety smooth mouthfeel characteristic of watered-down sherry. As with the aroma, I was overwhelmed by the successive emergence of flavors, and the balance between the intense sweetness and the deep tannic finish was superb. It was a high-density, well-crafted watered-down sherry malt with a certain warmth reminiscent of being by the fireplace. This bottle was received as part of the 16th anniversary event at Campbelltown Loch's Yurakucho. This year marked the first Samaroli collective opening since the 10th anniversary commemoration, but as usual, it sold out immediately. #GlenDronach (GLENDRONACH)
