Bottle #ダルユーイン(DAILUAINE)
Number 1 of Dailuaine. A deep and flavorful malt. Dailuaine DAILUAINE 1971-1987 16yo THE SCOTCH MALT WHISKY SOCIETY 41.1 57.9% The aroma has a pleasant old-aged character, apricot and plum jam, a dusty note, a faint nuance of old mar, seaweed, and a rich malt. When drinking, it starts with a smooth mouthfeel that spreads spicy and aromatic, the savory depth of malt lingers on the tongue, with dried apricot, a rich sweetness, and a well-defined malty umami, leading to a profound and enchanting aftertaste. 【Very Good, Interesting】 This is Number 41 from The Scotch Malt Whisky Society: Dailuaine 1971, bottled in 1987, aged for 16 years. As it is labeled as Number 1, this represents the first Dailuaine bottling by the Society. Given the maturation period and the Society's typical cask selection, it is speculated that at bottling, this whisky had a bold liquor body and roughness. After approximately 30 years since bottling, the roughness has mellowed into a textured profile with richness and umami, making the fruitiness more perceptible, while also taking on a unique atmosphere reminiscent of older malts. I was entranced by this deep, complex aroma that feels like drinking through time.
