As expected of this series, it is a high-proof whisky. From the aroma alone, there's a sticky apricot jam sensation and characteristic Hachimachi-like cinnamon, along with gentle nuances of toasted barley and caramelized nuts in a rich aroma. When drinking, the viscosity is indeed present, with a balanced combination of rich sweetness from apricot jam, subtle tannins, and the chewy umami of barley. The cinnamon flavor is also clearly pronounced. The body is thick and rich, with a long-lasting luxurious finish. At 64% ABV, the strength is not immediately felt, and among mostly plain Rare Malts, this one showcases notable barrel characteristics.
