Glenlivet 1972-2004 32 Year Old High Spirits #1047
Bottle #グレンリベット(GLENLIVET)
This is becoming delicious, isn't it!
Glenlivet GLENLIVET 1972-2004 32 Year Old High Spirits' Collection #1047, 47.3% ABV – One of 425 Bottles
The aroma is not overpowering but pleasant, with sherry notes, ripe plums, a slightly jam-like concentration, lingering barley character, and subtle herbs. It has richness.
When drinking, it starts with a smooth mouthfeel that expands into a rich sherry character, plums, and barley umami that emerges when chewed. It has depth but is not overly sweet, with a tight structure and slightly stubborn impression. The finish is long and pleasant without being off-putting.
【Very Good】
This Glenlivet 1972, aged for 32 years, was bottled by High Spirits in 2004. While the sherry character is well-balanced, it might be a second-fill cask? It's not overwhelming.
From the aroma, there is a concentrated sherry fruitiness with barley character that remains notably present despite the aging years.
When drinking, similar to the aroma, there are fruit and barley notes. The barley umami is more profound and stronger than expected, though it still carries a slightly stubborn impression. However, I could sense the process of it becoming more refined.
I imagine that immediately after bottling, it might have been less integrated with the sherry character. Now, it seems to be blending well, making it very enjoyable.
Furthermore, after opening and allowing some time to pass, I get the feeling that its viscosity will develop further, making it even more delicious.
