On the palate, it expands with a rich aroma of estery pear, orange, custard cream, and a sweet, oaky depth with a long, pleasant finish that lingers on the body. [Very Good] This Glenlivet 1972, matured for 37 years, was bottled by THE WHISKY AGENCY as 'THE PERFECT DRAM'. While many of the agency's long-matured whiskies often exhibit the vibrant, fruity estery characteristics typical of old Duncan Taylor maturation, some have shown a slightly aged body with dryness. This bottle, however, retains its estery, fruity notes like a fruit cake, with minimal dryness, and the body remains intact alongside its alcohol strength. It was a delicious, well-balanced Speyside malt that retained thickness without the expected over-matured characteristics suggested by its specifications. #GLENLIVET
