Talisker 1972 28 Year Old Kingsbury Celtic

#タリスカー(TALISKER)
After a long time, I was once again overwhelmed by the malt and found myself moved to tears. Talisker (Herides) 1972 28yo Kingsbury Celtic 53.2%, one of 540 bottles. The aroma is a powerful combination of strong sherry and peat, with berry jam, prunes, dried fruits, caramelized nuts, bouquet garni, meaty notes, strong seafood stock, earthy leaf mold, leather, a faint smoky graininess that seems delicious, a strong, moist peat with iodine, powerful and rich. Upon drinking, it starts with a smooth mouthfeel that expands powerfully and aromatically, seductive, good sherry, viscous texture, dried fruits and berry jam, herbs, strong peat, earthy leaf mold and leather notes, the intense sweetness of jam, good tannic astringency that deepens the flavor, rich and profound with the umami of barley and seafood stock, overwhelming power, full-bodied with a long, lingering finish. [Excellent] This Talisker 1972, aged for 28 years, is from the Celtic series of Kingsbury. It was opened to celebrate Campbell's 15th anniversary in Ginza. Just by smelling the aroma, I was immediately intoxicated and overwhelmed by the collaboration of strong sherry and peat. There were rich fruity notes from concentrated jams, herbs, nuts, and a meaty nuance without sulfuric elements, along with strong seafood stock notes. The barley's umami is prominent, and the earthy leaf mold adds depth to the aroma. The peat is strongly present with a clear iodine note. Overall, the aroma feels extremely complex and big-bodied, making me almost involuntarily want to take a sip. Actually tasting it does not disappoint the expectations from the aroma. Despite its high proof, it has a smooth mouthfeel that expands powerfully thereafter. It feels concentrated and viscous, with good sherry notes, berry-like fruitiness, herbs, spices, and the earthy depth of leaf mold. These elements are unified with strong peat. The balance between intense sweetness and good astringency is well-maintained, leaving a long-lasting finish with strong presence and an enigmatic, seductive nuance. Overall, the unity of sherry notes and peat is remarkable, with rich umami packed densely into every sip. The body is thick, powerful, and carries a seductive edge—this bottle has almost everything I desire in a peated malt. Although the distillery and aging years differ, it made me think of the legendary Glen Garioch 1971 Full Proof. While I was quite drunk, it's been a long time since I've been so moved to tears by a malt. It was a truly happy experience. The Celtic series opened for Campbell's 15th anniversary consisted of 10 bottles, and this one concludes my introduction. (Other non-Celtic series bottles still remain.) According to the master, all these bottles have improved significantly since their release, and indeed, many of them felt like they were at their prime when tasted. Once again, thank you for this wonderful experience.
