Bottle #ハイランドパーク(HIGHLANDPARK)
The atmosphere was not very typical of a society bottling.
Highland Park HIGHLAND PARK 1973-2002 28yo THE SCOTCH MALT WHISKY SOCIETY 4.87 44.0%
The nose has a matured character with some estery notes, orange, pear, gentle but rustic grainy qualities, and peat in the background. On the palate, it starts with a very soft mouthfeel expanding into orange, slightly estery pear, a gentle sweetness of diluted honey, subtle grainy umami, and peat in the background. The body is not very heavy but the finish is clean and pleasant.
【Very Good】
This is the fourth bottling from The Scotch Malt Whisky Society, Highland Park 1973, aged for 28 years. It is a long-matured cask strength bottling at 44%, with the natural drop in alcohol content. The nose has a typical estery fruity character often found in bottlings like Duncan Taylor, but it also retains some rustic grainy qualities and a hint of peat. On the palate, it delivers the same fruity impression as the nose but without any dryness or thinness, with a sweet and rich flavor from honey and umami from the grain. Although the body is not very strong, it's a beautiful long-matured malt with an enjoyable drinking experience.
