[Good/Very Good] This is the 10-year-old bottling of Springbank 1974 and 1984, an official Italian release. It was unveiled to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Campbelltown Loch in Ginza. From the first aroma, youthful fresh barley notes and lemongrass were prominent, along with floral nuances. Upon tasting, despite its high alcohol content, it had a smooth mouthfeel that expanded strongly, with the same fresh and refreshing lemon and barley notes taking center stage. Particularly notable was the savory depth of the barley, which left a favorable impression. A strong briny character was also present, with a subtle peat note at the finish. Though the maturation period was short, complexity was not overwhelming. Overall, it felt fresh and clear with a solid barley sweetness, making it enjoyable. It seemed as though this bottling, which was initially somewhat prickly, had mellowed over time in the bottle. While retaining its youthful character, it developed a cohesive and delicious profile.
