Bottle #グレンモール(GLENMHOR)
A rugged, connoisseur-oriented Glenmorangie with a flavor reminiscent of Seastante's short-matured cask.
Glenmorangie GLENMHOR 1974 13yo SESTANTE 58.4%
The aroma is strong, with a damp, intense barley, ginger, cinnamon, lemon, honey. Upon drinking, it is stimulating and strong in flavor, with a very strong barley note and umami, as well as a textured chewiness. The sweetness is not strong, it's dry and crisp with a long finish.
[Good/Very Good]
This is the Seastante Glenmorangie 1974, matured for 13 years in cask strength.
The aroma is strong, and it's likely that the damp, intense barley note has been emphasized through bottle aging. Notes of ginger, cinnamon, and citrus also emerge, but it feels young and not particularly complex.
When drinking, the flavor is indeed strong as expected from the aroma. The barley flavor is intense with a rich umami and chewy texture. There's some honey-like sweetness, but it's not strong; overall, it's a dry and crisp type with a clean finish.
The cask notes are minimal, plain in style but with powerful flavor. It must have been quite rough when bottled. However, it has mellowed in the bottle and now allows one to enjoy the barley's deliciousness without much harshness.
Exactly as I imagined, it has a plain cask character with strong barley and cinnamon notes, giving that powerful Seastante-like impression.
