Upon drinking, it has a concentrated, powdery texture with bite, grapefruit, savory barley and dashi umami that seep in, clear flavor profile with good finish, sharp peat, and a long, pleasant aftertaste. 【Very Good】 This is a Clyde 1974 bottled by Milroys in 1997, aged for 22 years. It offers a concentrated, powdery bite with citrus notes, raw ham, savory barley, cheese, and seafood dashi umami that seep in. It has the strong peat typical of an Islay cask strength, with a sharpness in its peat. Notes of chlorine and metallic feel are also present—elements commonly found in Clyde, but this bottle feels more diverse, complex, and concentrated with each component having matured through bottle aging. While Clyde is generally stable in its deliciousness and not often outstanding, this one clearly stood out. It was delicious.
