The aroma has a disinfectant and cresol scent, with smokiness, a cool metallic feel, strong damp earthy notes, wilted orange, matured and powerful barley character, a hint of honey. Upon drinking, it starts with a gentle mouthfeel that expands into wilted lemon, similar to the aroma of cresol and disinfectant, cool metallic notes, a mild sweetness with citrus acidity, barley and earthy elements that seep in. It leaves an oily, smoky long finish.
【Very Good】
This is Ardbeg 1975 bottled by Wilson & Morgan in 2002, aged for 27 years.
From the very first aroma, it's unmistakably Ardbeg from the 1970s with its medicinal-like qualities, strong smokiness, damp earthy notes, and a cool metallic sensation. At the same time, it was impressive that such a powerful barley character could be felt despite the aging period.
When drinking, it also reveals distinctive elements one after another, with a modest sweetness and acidity, as well as a textured barley and earthy character that seems to seep in, possibly influenced by bottle aging.
It's not a heavy-bodied type that would weigh down the tongue, but its unique character lingers on for a long finish.
