Bottle #ベンネヴィス(BENNEVIS)
As expected, it's a distinctive distillery but not overly bitter. Ben Nevis BENNEVIS 1975 34yo The Prestonfield #7440 62.6% one of 139 bottles The aroma has concentrated fruits, apricot jam, apple jam, cinnamon, a grainy sensation with some paper-like notes, strong woodiness, rich and quite oily. When drinking, it's smooth and dense with a viscous texture, the rich sweetness of apricot jam, cinnamon, woody bitterness that tightens the flavor, some grainy and slightly bitter notes, less paper-like and more richly oily, with a long finish. [Good/Very Good] This is a single cask Ben Nevis 1975, 34-year-old whisky bottled by The Prestonfield Hotel. The aroma is distinctive from the start, with a concentrated jammy array of fruits, paper-like notes and strong woodiness, along with characteristic oiliness. When drinking, it has a smooth mouthfeel without the sharpness or spiciness expected from its alcohol content. Very oily with strong viscosity, which might mask some characteristics. While it has a rich fruity character and some noticeable cask influence, the original spirit's personality combined with these elements created a very rich and complex aroma. Though not particularly skilled at handling paper-like notes, Ben Nevis has several weaknesses, but this bottle didn't exhibit significant paper-like qualities in flavor, allowing me to enjoy its personality while finding it quite enjoyable. #Ben Nevis (BENNEVIS)
