Bottle #バンフ(BANFF)
A delicious bottle typical of Green Cadenhead. BANFF 1976-1998 21 Year Old Cadenhead Authentic Collection 58.2% The aroma is strong, rustic, and dry with a barley note, refined citrus, white flowers, a touch of musk, and plain cask characteristics. When drinking, it spreads gradually with spicy notes, citrus, fresh floral tones, clean sweetness and acidity, a strong barley presence with umami depth, and a texture that lingers on the tongue. A clean, impurity-free finish. 【Very Good】 The Green Tull bottle from Cadenhead's Authentic Collection, BANFF 1976, 21 years old. This is a high-proof expression typical of the series. Based on dry nuances and lively, thick barley notes, it also features fresh floral tones and a slightly exotic nuance that likely emerged from bottle aging. The cask note is not strong, with a plain aroma, and the balance of sweetness and acidity is well done. The texture, which conveys a sense of umami from the barley, was also a positive aspect. Green Cadenhead bottles from this era often feature high proof and plain cask characteristics, and this is no exception. It's likely that when bottled, it was quite sharp with young barley notes dominating, but has mellowed over time. Personally, I imagine this as a whisky to be enjoyed more for its flavor and texture than its aroma. This Green Cadenhead feels like it's finally reaching its drinking prime. It will likely remain enjoyable for another 10 years, but how it will evolve in the future is beyond my current imagination. I'm very much looking forward to it.
