Indeed a refined Tomatin as expected from an official bottling. Tomatin TOMATIN 1976-2015 38yo OB for THE WHISKY HOOP #31 47% One of 190 bottles, Hogshead The aroma has a sense of maturation and intoxication, with notes of pears and peaches, a subtle grape-like character reminiscent of aged Cognac, a chemical-like sensation akin to children's syrup medicine, good oak, and a faint maltiness. Upon tasting, it begins with a gentle mouthfeel that expands into an extremely matured profile, similar to the aroma, with strong and diverse fruity and chemical notes, sweet juice flavor, a light acidity, and an intoxicatingly pleasant finish. 【Very Good】 Bottled for THE WHISKY HOOP (TWH), this official Tomatin 1976, aged for an extraordinary 38 years, is a masterpiece from the early days of TWH. While Tomatin 1976 was once widely released, many bottles had high cost-per-bottle (CP) values and rough chemical notes, lacking elegance but possessing a standout fruitiness. This bottle also exhibits that remarkable fruitiness. The Tomatin 1976's intoxicating fruity character explodes from the first sniff, and its long maturation is evident in the rich, diverse estery fruitiness. Despite being dominated by the fruity style of the distillery and its 38-year maturation, it retains a body without roughness, offering a refined elegance that is truly characteristic of an official bottling. Due to its high price, I couldn't purchase multiple bottles, but it's a tough decision on when to open this one. Such enjoyment is indeed delightful. #Tomatin (TOMATIN)
