Highland Park HIGHLAND PARK 1977-2006 28yo HART BROTHERS 46% The aroma features gentle sherry, orange marmalade, plum, honey, a refined cereal note from the depth, subtle peat. The mouthfeel is smooth with sherry characteristics, a slightly meaty texture, rich plum jam sweetness, mild tannins, nuts and faint peat. The finish is long and rich. [Good/Very Good] This Highland Park 1977 bottled by Hart Brothers in 2006 is a watered-down bottling. The overall sensation is wrapped in gentle sherry notes, with fruitiness complemented by honey and cereal notes as well as subtle peat. Upon tasting, the sherry character and jam sweetness were present, with a balanced tannic quality that deepened the flavor. The nuts and faint peat reminded me of typical Highland Park characteristics. There was a slightly meaty aspect that seemed to enrich the flavor, though it might have been more sulfuric at bottling. Over time, this meatiness would mellow into the current profile. #Highland Park (HIGHLANDPARK)
