Highland Park 1978 17 Year Old Single Cask Collection #3436

Highland Park HIGHLAND PARK 1978-1995 17yo THE SINGLE CASK COLLECTION #3436 56.8% one of 168 bottles
Bottle #ハイランドパーク(HIGHLANDPARK)
Rather than Heather Honey, this Highland Park was more like Heather & Honey. Highland Park HIGHLAND PARK 1978-1995 17yo THE SINGLE CASK COLLECTION #3436 56.8% one of 168 bottles The aroma is strong with young grassy plants, citrus, white flowers, vanilla, cinnamon, dry rich barley. When drinking, it has a spicy mouthfeel, a light honey sweetness, and tar-like peat that lingers on the finish. Slightly pale but delicious. [Good/Very Good] This bottle was selected by Mr. Tsuchiya around 1999-2000 and released by Alan Japan (now Whisky One) as part of the Single Cask Collection. It is Highland Park 1978, aged for 17 years. Unlike other bottles in this series, this one had already been bottled by 1995. From the aroma, I received a fairly fresh impression, with citrus notes as well as grassy and floral nuances. When drinking it, there is a honey sweetness with a strong tar-like peat note. The image was more like Heather and Honey separately rather than Heather Honey. As a cask strength Highland Park, it has a clean finish but feels slightly thin with not much body. Overall, it was a Highland Park that had its own character and was delicious.
