HIGHLAND PARK 1978-1996 SAMAROLI 45% - One of 360 bottles
Bottle #ハイランドパーク(HIGHLANDPARK)
In the 1990s, Samaroli had many bottles of this type. HIGHLAND PARK 1978-1996 SAMAROLI 45% One of 360 bottles The aroma is elegant and estery, with a variety of fruits such as pear and orange, candy apple, diluted honey, vanilla, and a subtle smokiness from the back. When tasted, it is smooth with a strong, matured fruity flavor and a rich deliciousness. However, it is clearly peaty with the umami of the malt. [Good/Very Good] This Samaroli bottling of Highland Park 1978 was bottled in 1996, with about 18 years of aging. It has a very elegant and estery fruity character, with a bourbon cask influence subtly felt from the back. The smoky nuances typical of Highland Park were particularly well expressed in flavor. There is a strong sense of maturity that one would not expect from an 18-year-old, making it very fruity. However, there is a slight lack of body, but it remains a Highland Park with richness and a delicate peat. While Samaroli's 1980s bottlings often emphasized body, in the 1990s there were some bottles that sacrificed a bit of body for more matured character. These bottles were obtained at the 'Whisky Lovers Nagoya 2018 Pre-Tasting' event held by IAN at Mitsukoshi-Mae. #HIGHLANDPARK (HIGHLANDPARK)
