Bottle #ローズバンク(ROSEBANK)
It was a very good Sherry matured ROSEBANK.
ROSEBANK 1978-2000 21yo DOUGLAS LAING Old Malt Cask 50%
one of 336 bottles
The aroma had a pleasant Sherry, apricot jam, plum, grape juice, diluted caramel sauce, rich barley notes, and upon drinking it spread smoothly from a smooth mouthfeel to a fragrant aroma of apricot jam, plum, good grape notes, tea, rich sweetness, and a moderate bitterness with a long, complex, and seductive aftertaste.
【Very Good】
A ROSEBANK from Douglas Laing's OMC, matured for 21 years from 1978.
Although there was no specific information provided, the aroma clearly had a good Sherry character reminiscent of the 1970s, and its diverse fruity notes, especially the grape juice-like quality, were very impressive.
When drinking it, it had a smooth mouthfeel that led to a rich and fragrant expansion, similar to an old watered-down whisky. Like the aroma, its diverse fruity notes and juicy-like quality were very appealing.
The balance of rich sweetness and moderate acidity was also good, and it had a refined seductive quality that seemed to be influenced by bottle aging. I found it very delicious.
Although I couldn't identify the house style for this well-Sherry-matured ROSEBANK, which is similar to other OMC whiskies for whisky fairs, it was not inferior in terms of flavor and had a seductive, intoxicating quality that made it an outstanding malt.
