Benrinnes 1979 20 Year Old Wilson & Morgan
Bottle #ベンリネス(BENRINNES)
I think that the sherry character must have become even better than it was at bottling.
Benrinnes BENRINNES 1979-1999 20yo WILSON&MORGAN 46%
The aroma has a gentle sherry, orange, apricot jam, mild barley notes, nuts, richness. When drinking, it has a slightly sweet and viscous flavor reminiscent of apricot jam, with a gentle sherry character that wraps around the whole palate, and a soft barley note in the background with a rich and long finish.
[Good/Very Good]
This is Benrinnes 1979, a 20-year-old Speyside malt bottled by Wilson & Morgan in 1999 with added water. It has a gentle sherry character that wraps around the entire palate, and there was a sense of unity in its slightly rich and viscous fruity notes along with mild barley characteristics. Although this is just a guess, I think the integration has improved and it's become more delicious due to the effects of dilution and aging. I hope that with current new releases, more bottles will reach a pleasant drinking state after about 10 to 15 years of aging.
