Still fresh and powerful Talisker. Talisker TALISKER 1979-2000 SCOTCH MALT SALES DISTILLERY COLLECTION 58% The aroma features lemon, strong barley notes, young leaves, vanilla, sea breeze, sharp peat, and smoke. On the palate, it has a powerful, spicy attack with fresh citrus and penetrating barley notes, rich umami, dryness with not too much sweetness, brininess, seafood dashi, strong peat and smoke, and a spicy, long finish. 【Good/Very Good】 Talisker 1979 from the Distillery Collection by Scotch Malt Sales, bottled in 2000, approximately 21 years old. As the cask influence isn't too pronounced, it's not a strongly matured type. From the aroma, fresh citrus like lemon and plant-like notes of young leaves were clearly present, along with strong barley characteristics. With the presence of sea elements and strong smokiness, it felt like a straightforward Talisker without any artificial touches. Due to its high alcohol content, it has a powerful and spicy attack. Similar to the aroma, the fresh character remained with a plain cask influence. While the obvious maturity isn't strongly felt, the texture suggesting barley umami seeping in seems to have been brought about by bottle aging. Though not a complex matured type, it was a Talisker that directly conveyed the original spirit's character and umami. #Talisker (TALISKER)
