On the palate, it starts gently, then gradually becomes spicy. Similar to the aroma, there are wax and oil notes, with a chewy, robust barley sweetness, subtle sweet richness, and a long, oily finish. [Good/Very Good] This Dallas Dhu 1979, 20-year-old whisky is from Douglas Laing's OMC. I had a period where I loved Clydesdale intensely, and at home I often drank 70s Dallas Dhu as a similar malt. However, this bottle strongly evokes the waxy nuances of Clydesdale and Craigellachie. While I didn't feel the same sticky viscosity as Clydesdale in this bottle, it was still waxy and oily, with a delicious barley depth that emerges when chewed. I think the classification of distilleries in terms of aroma varies depending on what each drinker perceives as characteristic, but to me, these three distilleries fall into the same category. #Dallas Dhu (DALLAS DHU)
