Bottle #ポートエレン(PORT ELLEN)
A vibrant and well-balanced Port Ellen that was delicious. Port Ellen PORT ELLEN 1979-2005 26yo OLD BOTHWELL #3798 53% The aroma is vibrant, with a sweet-tart citrus note, youthful peach and green plant-like freshness, vanilla, pleasant maltiness, sea breeze, faint salt and mineral notes, and a strong smoky peat character. On the palate, it starts with a soft mouthfeel that expands into similar citrus and peach/plant-like notes as the aroma, with a penetrating texture, pleasant wheat sweetness, balanced acidity, gentle brininess, strong peat with tar-like seaweed characteristics, and a long finish. 【Very Good】 This Port Ellen 1979 was released by Old Bothwell, aged for 26 years. It has a vibrant, fruity character with a slightly moist nuance to its citrus notes, and also exhibits a faint peach-like sweetness. As an Islay malt, the malty and peaty elements are well-balanced. The balance of sweetness, acidity, saltiness, and umami in the flavor profile is excellent. As a matured Port Ellen, it has depth and a long-lasting finish, making it delicious. This bottle was gifted to me for the 10th anniversary of Ginza's Zenith. It was a fittingly elegant Port Ellen for the celebration.
