It has no added flavor and feels plain, with a strong sense of rugged, rich barley character from both the aroma and taste. While the fragrance is not particularly diverse, there are hints of citrus fruits and a rich honey-like sweetness. It has a texture that feels well-rounded and aged, which was very impressive.
