This is the Glen Craigellachie 1980, aged for 16 years, bottled in 1997 by Cadenhead in a green bottle.
With its typical plain cask characteristics of Green Cadenhead and high proof, the original spirit flavor is clearly evident.
In addition to the waxy and oily characteristics typical of Craigellachie, there is a hint of white grape in the aroma, along with a delicious malty note, which was an impressive feature.
When drinking, due to its nearly 20 years in the bottle, it has a slightly viscous texture and remains waxy. Similar to the aroma, the malty notes are accompanied by a flavorful bite, making it very delicious.
It has a rare nuance of being both waxy and oily yet somehow clean and beautiful, which I think occasionally appears in Craigellachie.
