Bottle #タリスカー(TALISKER)
It was a plain Talisker that clearly conveyed the flavor of the original spirit. Talisker (TACTICAL) 1980-2000 20yo Douglas Laing Old Malt Cask 50%, one of 359 bottles The aroma had a plain cask character, simple barley notes, citrus, faint cinnamon, and sharp smoky peat. When tasted, it started with a surprisingly smooth mouthfeel before turning spicy, featuring citrusy notes, a simple sweetness, a condensed and slightly chewy barley umami, plain but tightening oak, a slightly cool metallic touch, sharp peat, and a pleasant finish. [Good/Very Good] This Talisker 1980, aged for 20 years, was bottled by Douglas Laing as OMC in 2000. It had a plain aroma with little influence from the cask, featuring citrus-like tangy notes and simple barley character along with sharp peat-smoke. The flavor also had a plain impression, with a spicy peppery nuance typical of Talisker, a refined syrup-like sweetness, and a solid barley umami, with the sharp peat lingering long. I think it was originally a dry malt that stood out for its spiciness, but after 16 years since bottling, it has become more approachable on the palate and its deliciousness is easier to appreciate. #Talisker (TALISKER)
