Bottle #ダルモア(DALMORE)
This is a Dalmore with prominent tropical fruits upfront. Dalmore DALMORE 1980-2002 22yo OB #158 60.8% The aroma is full of tropical fruits, pineapple, apricot jam, orange with milk chocolate, clove, and a rich woody character. The taste is viscous with the same tropical notes as the aroma, including pineapple and apricot jam, chocolate, a strong sweet flavor with body, stronger woody notes and a subtle bitterness, finishing with a rich aftertaste. 【Good/Very Good】 This is an official Dalmore bottled in 2002, aged for 22 years from 1980. This Dalmore immediately presents a well-ripened tropical fruit character, with a chocolate-like quality and a woody, rich aroma. I have encountered several Dalmore bottlings with strong tropical characteristics before, and they often come from bourbon casks rather than sherry casks. Regarding this bottle, my first impression was that it might be a sherry cask due to its chocolate-like quality. However, upon closer tasting, I reconsidered and believe it is more likely a bourbon cask. Recently, similar nuances have been found in some aged agency bottlings that are typically associated with sherry casks, suggesting this might be a bourbon cask with characteristics overlapping those of sherry casks.
