A wonderful finish with a very pleasant taste. Balvenie BALNENIE 1982-1998 15yo OB Single Cask #148 50.4% The aroma is elegant, with orange marmalade, ripe plums, heated apple, vanilla cream, butter scotch, rich oak. Upon drinking, it spreads smoothly yet richly with the sweetness of heated apple, strong body, barley umami, slight viscosity, rich and intense flavor with a thick body, long finish, and excellent balance at a high level. [Very Good] This is the official Balvenie 1982, a 15-year-old single cask from cask #148. The aroma offers a rich variety of fruity notes, while the barley character from an appropriate aging period is clearly present without harshness. The thick and viscous flavor showcases a diverse, intense fruitiness, sweet depth, and a complex barley umami. It is an exceptionally balanced malt at a high level. This single cask series often features this balanced style without charring, and it is always delicious. While recent bourbon barrel whiskies are also good, this single cask series has a different charm. Additionally, the 1982 vintage evokes nostalgia. It is remarkable that during a time of malt shortages and consecutive distillery closures, such a product was created.
