On the palate, it has a spicy, tingling sensation with strong, chewy barley umami, cinnamon and ginger, sweet honey notes with body, rich oak, and a spicy finish with some oily orange oil. [Good/Very Good] This is SMWS's 59.53 - a new release of Teaninich 1983, 31-year-old whisky. The good bourbon cask elements like honey, vanilla, and rich oak are complemented by the appealing barley character with a buttery Scotch-like quality and oily texture. When tasted, it starts with a spicy mouthfeel and is full of concentrated barley umami. Cinnamon remains prominent, with the sweet honey notes adding body and oak providing structure, offering a satisfying drinking experience.
