The aroma is strong and elegant with a fresh, concentrated citrus note, good barley character, and the typical smoky tar nuance of an Islay. The peat is strongly felt. When drinking it, there's a concentrated powdery texture with chewiness, moderate sweetness, and the umami of barley and dashi can be clearly felt. The peat remains strong until the end of the finish. As an Islay, I often feel a powdery concentrated citrus nuance similar to Lagavulin or some Calilas and Port Ellen. In addition to this preferred fruity character, the faint saltiness often found in Calilas and a sharp strong peat can be felt. This is quite a favorite type of Calila for me, although the body and complexity are not very high, there was a sense of satisfaction.
