Bottle #グレンファークラス(GLENFARCLAS)
A long-matured fruity Farclas. Glenfarclas GLENFARCLAS 1985 29yo THE SCOTCH MALT WHISKY SOCIETY "1.187" 50.0% one of 180 bottles, Refill Bourbon Hogshead The aroma has a matured feel, fruity with a strong estery note, pear, orange, pineapple, and a solid floral nuance. When tasted, the matured fruity notes are strong with a rich mouthfeel, pear and orange liqueur, pleasant sweetness, a wheaty grain note from the back, oak with no harshness and its faint tannins, leaving a pleasant lingering body. [Good/Very Good] This is the first release from SMWS, Glenfarclas 1985, 29 years old. (※For a list of SMWS distillery codes, please see here) The aroma from the very beginning has a strong matured feel, and if blind tasted, one might say it's over 35 years old. There is a strong estery and diverse fruity note, with floral nuances as well. When tasted, the matured fruits are still strong and diverse, but despite its long aging, the body is well-preserved, with a pleasant oak tannin and wheaty grain note adding depth. When thinking of non-sherry long-aged estery Farclas, one might think of Duncan Taylor's releases, but clearly this is more full-bodied and delicious. #Glenfarclas (GLENFARCLAS)
