BUNNAHABHAIN 1987-2015 WEMYSS MALTS 46% - One of 600 bottles, BUTT
Bottle #ブナハーブン(BUNNAHABHAIN)
A BUNNAHABHAIN with a nice Sherry character. BUNNAHABHAIN 1987-2015 WEMYSS MALTS 46% One of 600 bottles, BUTT Aroma: Rich with Sherry notes, berry jam, bitter chocolate, and herbs with minty spices. On the palate, it starts with a smooth mouthfeel that expands into a fragrant aroma, featuring a balanced depth with a good amount of Sherry, fruity elements like berry jam and herbs, chocolate, a slightly sweet taste, a subtle tannic note, and a faintly woody character. The finish is long-lasting. 【Good/Very Good】 Last year's WEMYSS bottling of BUNNAHABHAIN 1987, aged for approximately 28 years. This malt is impressively dominated by Sherry notes, with the aroma seemingly governed entirely by Sherry characteristics. However, for an 80s whisky, it exhibits a high-quality Sherry profile without sulfuric undertones. The Sherry character is strong and nuanced, with subtle hints of BUNNAHABHAIN's characteristic woody elements seemingly resisting the cask influence. Due to dilution, the balance is well-maintained, offering a pleasant Sherry-style malt with high completion and a long finish.
