BUNNAHABHAIN 1987 26 Year Old THE WHISKY AGENCY The Perfect Dram
Bottle #ブナハーブン(BUNNAHABHAIN)
The strength of the white wine character—does it come from the cask?
BUNNAHABHAIN 1987-2013 26yo THE WHISKY AGENCY 'THE PERFECT DRAM' 49.4%, one of 255 bottles, Ex-Fino Cask
The aroma features lemon, a strong white wine character, faint green apple, coconut, vanilla, and underlying barley notes. On the palate, it has a gentle mouthfeel, expanding with lemon water, white wine, nuts, and a refined sweetness with a subtle acidity. It offers a well-balanced flavor without any off-putting notes.
[Good/Very Good]
This BUNNAHABHAIN 1987, aged for 26 years, was bottled in 2013 by THE WHISKY AGENCY as 'The Perfect Dram.'
It's a bit rare, having been matured in a Fino cask.
The aroma is quite fresh and crisp with some maturity, strongly evoking white wine. When tasted, it also has a clean citrus and white wine character, with a refined balance of sweetness and acidity, making it an easy-drinking BUNNAHABHAIN.
Recently I had a Japanese-market BBR BUNNAHABHAIN of the same vintage, but even though it was from a different cask and overall not similar in style, it also lacked the rustic, slightly bitter 'eggy' flavor that I think is characteristic of BUNNAHABHAIN's house style.
This was a refined and clean BUNNAHABHAIN with no rough edges.
