On the palate, it offers grapefruit and subtle pear, a slightly powdery texture with chewy mouthfeel, pronounced barley notes and umami from seafood stock, with a lingering strong peat and iodine. 【Good/Very Good】 This is a 14-year-old Laphroaig from 1988, bottled by Signatory in the Un-Chillfiltered Collection in 2003. Perhaps due to aging after bottling with water, the aroma and flavor were quite fruity. In addition to the characteristic grapefruit notes and powdery matcha, there were also citrus pith nuances reminiscent of Bowmore. The peat with barley and iodine notes remained distinct, and overall it had a refined, cohesive profile. From the fruity character to the texture, this was undoubtedly a ripe and fruity Laphroaig.
