Irish Whiskey IRISH WHISKY 1988-2015 26yo THE WHISKY AGENCY THE PERFECT DRAM 50.7% One of 201 bottles, Barrel
Bottle #アイリッシュ(IRISH)
The definitive fruity Irish whiskey. I felt an exceptionally juicy, droplet-like fruitiness. Irish Whiskey IRISH WHISKY 1988-2015 26yo THE WHISKY AGENCY THE PERFECT DRAM 50.7% One of 201 bottles, Barrel The aroma features very strong tropical fruits, clearly peach, guava, mango, pineapple, with a pronounced juice sensation, moderate grainy notes, oiliness. The mouthfeel is smooth and viscous, with some chemical nuances but also pineapple, peach, and juice sensations. The finish has a dense sweetness and moderate oak, slightly oily but surprisingly short. 【Very Good】 New release from The Whisky Agency, the Irish whiskey 'The Perfect Dram' aged 26 years from 1988. There's a rumor it might be Bushmills, but there is no official confirmation. While 'The Perfect Dram' previously had an image of plain, label-less bottles, this one surprisingly features an anime-style label. From the first sniff, a diverse array of tropical fruits with strong intensity is evident. Even before tasting, I sensed the powerful juice sensation. The grainy notes and Irish-style oiliness emerged later. Upon tasting, the expected intense fruity juice sensation was present, and while the oily Irish character was noticeable without being overt, the finish was unexpectedly short. Though there are common chemical nuances often found in fruity Irish whiskies, these were completely overshadowed by the fruitiness. Due to its remaining alcohol strength and body, it reminded me of 1960s Benriach at a similar proof. While Benriach wins in terms of intoxication and finish length, I don't think it's inferior in juice sensation. However, with such an intense expression, one can't help but want it in hand, yet Irish whiskey has become expensive once again... The price range for fruity whiskies with high value-for-money is now the norm, but this certainly doesn't fit that category.
