Bottle #バルヴェニー(BALVENIE)
It's undeniably expensive, but when you drink it, you can feel a good sense of maturation. Balvenie BALVENIE 1988-2014 25yo OB Single Cask #68 47.8% TRADITIONAL OAK: REFILL AMERICAN OAK CASK The aroma has strong vanilla and oak, green apple, orange, a bit of youthfulness but thick barley notes. When you drink it, the smooth mouthfeel brings orange, vanilla, a sweet and rich honey flavor with thick barley umami, oak tannins and spices. The body is medium, the finish is pleasant. [Good/Very Good] This is an official Balvenie Single Cask from the 1988 vintage, aged for 25 years. The aroma had a slightly younger nuance for a 25-year-old maturation, but when you drink it, you can feel good maturation from the mouthfeel. Especially the rich honey-like sweetness and thick barley umami were good, and the oak tannins deepened the flavor. The body was a bit lighter for Balvenie, but it felt pleasant until the end of the finish. The bottle was more enjoyable when drunk than smelled. Considering that it's an official 25-year-old maturation, but the bottle price is over 60,000 yen and expensive, it would have been nice to have a bit more maturation in the aroma as well.
