Talisker 1990 12 Year Old Hart Brothers

Talisker TALISKER 1990-2002 12yo HART BROTHERS 46.0%
Bottle #タリスカー(TALISKER)
A somewhat rare Talisker with nuances from a sherry cask. Talisker TALISKER 1990-2002 12yo HART BROTHERS 46.0% The aroma has plums, dried figs, a strong peat with some iodine, meaty barbecue notes, and from the back comes charred barley. Upon drinking, it expands with a smooth mouthfeel, soft sherry, plums, dashi soy sauce, strong sweetness and gentle astringency, slightly smoky with some peat and iodine. The finish is long. 【Good/Very Good】 Talisker 1990, 12 years old from Hart Brothers. Although not specified, there are nuances of soft sherry cask from both the aroma and flavor. There was also a slight dashi soy sauce-like nuance, which I find slightly difficult, but it's a rich and peaty Talisker with strong umami. Official bottlings tend to focus on plain casks, so it's not often that we come across a sherry-aged Talisker. By the way, this bottle is labeled as cask strength, but it's 46% ABV for a 12-year-old whisky. I didn't feel the concentrated sense of naturally reduced alcohol, so it might be a mislabeling. In any case, it's a rich Talisker and quite good.
