[Good/Very Good] This is a recently released MORTLACH 1990, 25-year-old whisky from Ian Macleod's Chieftain's collection. While it exhibits a modern sherry character, the aroma reveals concentrated plums and chocolate alongside refined woodiness, offering a sense of luxury. The palate delivers a long-matured watered-down feel with gentle mouthfeel, jammy fruitiness, rich sweetness, and tannins reminiscent of oversteeped tea. Spicy elements characteristic of MORTLACH's sherry casks are also present, making this a well-crafted new release.
