It feels like the early 90s is reaching its peak. BOWMORE 1992-2015 22yo CADENHEAD Authentic Collection 50.8% one of 204 bottles, Bourbon Hogshead The aroma features passion fruit, orange, pineapple, vanilla cream, coconut, good barley notes, sea breeze, dashi, strong peat, richness. Upon drinking, the flavor is similarly diverse with tropical fruitiness, a rich fruity sweetness, and good oak tannins that deepen the taste. Long peaty finish. [Good/Very Good] New release from CADENHEAD's Authentic Collection: BOWMORE 1992, aged 22 years. While grapefruit notes weren't strongly present in both aroma and flavor, the tropical fruits like passion fruit characteristic of BOWMORE were clearly evident. In addition to strong fruity notes, rich bourbon cask nuances like vanilla cream and coconut were effectively present. The sweetness is strong, with the oak tannins tightening and deepening it. A strong peatiness reminiscent of Islay cask strength was also noticeable, making this a satisfying BOWMORE. Recently, new releases of early 90s BOWMORE have been scarce, making opportunities to drink them rare. However, this year's bottling was available. Interestingly, the 1992 vintage has now exceeded 20 years. Unlike the freshness and alcohol sensation felt in the German-style 1993 bottles that were widely circulated around 2010, these characteristics weren't present in this bottle. It's a well-balanced maturity just before the cask becomes too tight. It truly seems to be reaching its peak. I wonder if a new release of 1993 will come out soon... #BOWMORE (BOWMORE)
