Aultmore 1992-2014 21yo BBR retro label for Yoshinoya & Campbeltown Loch #3500 52.7% ・Aroma: Strong honey notes, ripe orange, apple, light loquat, well-developed barley character, pleasant oak, vanilla, slightly creamy. ・Flavor: Initially not too spicy but gradually becomes so, with good malty sweetness, rich honey sweetness, light oak tannins, balanced, medium-bodied. ・Aftertaste: The honey sweetness and light oak astringency linger for a while. ・Dilution: Surprisingly stable. The pleasant honey sweetness and barley character remain intact. ・Overall Impression: The honey sweetness, barley depth, and good oak astringency are impressive. Overall, the balance is excellent with no off-flavors, and it has an approachable character for a cask strength whisky. It's easy to drink without stress, and its stability when diluted is commendable. 【Good/Very Good】 This Aultmore 1992, 21-year-old whisky was bottled by BBR for Yoshinoya and Campbeltown Loch. Although I wrote about this bottle last year, I recently opened it at home and took my time to enjoy it. As described above, it's a relatively recent Speyside malt with notable aging character. It shares many nuances with good bourbon cask whiskies from recent years, but without off-flavors and with a balanced profile that makes it easy to drink, leading me to keep drinking glass after glass.
