Jura 1993 Official Bottled by Boutique Barrels

Jura ISLE OF JURA 1993 OB BOUTIQUE BARRELS 54% OLOROSO SHERRY BUTTS
Bottle #アイルオブジュラ(ISLE OF JURA)
Still somewhat sulfurous in the sherry character, but looking forward to its future development. Jura ISLE OF JURA 1993 OB BOUTIQUE BARRELS 54% OLOROSO SHERRY BUTTS The aroma is strong sherry, slightly grapey, dates, dried apricot, caramelized nuts, charred barley, a bit of meatiness in thickness. Upon drinking, it has a strong attack, youthful barley character, rich date sweetness, faint berries, and a solid sulfurous note with meaty thickness. 【Okay/Good】 A single cask from the Isle of Jura Distillery, bottled at cask strength as a Boutique Barrels release, 1993 vintage. Aged in Oloroso sherry butts. The sherry cask character is strong both in aroma and flavor, but it's not dominant due to the youthful strength of the barley. Beneath the surface of dried fruits like dates, hints of grape and berries can be seen. It's also quite meaty, with a clear sulfurous note. However, there is currently no unity between the young barley character and sherry cask components, and the sulfurous notes are quite strong. Honestly, at this stage, it doesn't seem very delicious to me. However, I have the impression that such sulfurous notes tend to fade with time after bottling. Looking ahead, I imagine that the barley character and stimulation will mellow out, bringing a sense of unity throughout with increased viscosity. The fruitiness hidden in the depths will become stronger, and the sherry character will lose its unpleasantness, becoming more aromatic and diverse. I would like to drink this bottle again in about 10 years. Usually, I don't feature bottles with a rating below G, but since there's potential for positive change, I've included this one for your consideration.
