Springbank SPRINGBANK 1993-2009 BBR #195 46%
Bottle #スプリングバンク(SPRINGBANK)
A well-rounded Springbank from the 1990s that is pleasant to drink. Springbank SPRINGBANK 1993-2009 BBR #195 46% The aroma features orange with peel, a strong lingering grain note, faint honey, chlorine and strong minerals, with peat coming from the back. When drinking, it has a gentle mouthfeel, slightly viscous, with orange and honey, a refined sweetness and acidity, minerals, a strong briny note, and smoke. [Good/Very Good] This is a diluted bottling of Springbank 1993, bottled by BBR in 2009, with approximately 16 years of aging. Due to the time passed after dilution and bottling, around seven years, it has a slightly viscous and smooth impression. There is an impression that the elements of fruit, grain, minerals, and peat are well balanced, while still retaining a clear Springbank character. Regardless of the bottler, many Springbank bottles released immediately after release tend to have a somewhat unbalanced impression. However, this bottle already shows a good balance, likely due to the dilution. I suspect that even the cask strength releases will eventually reach a higher level of deliciousness and balance like this one.
