A very good recent release sherry cask. Glen Garioch GLENGARIOCH 1993-2014 21yo ADELPHI #776 59.6% one of 562 bottles The aroma is enveloping sherry, plum jam, chocolate, raisin, cinnamon, herbs, a solid malty character, rich. When drinking, it starts smooth but expands with spicy heat, a thick jammy sweetness, a tightening tartness, balanced well with malty goodness, and a pleasant long finish. 【Good/Very Good】 This is Glen Garioch 1993, 21-year-old matured, bottled by Adelphi in 2014. Although not stated on the bottle, it's clearly a sherry cask influenced malt. Considering the bottling numbers, it might be a sherry butt. The aroma is covered with good sherry cask nuances, clearly feeling elements like jam, chocolate, raisin, and herbs typical of sherry casks. At the same time, a well-rounded malty character is felt with a certain maturity. When drinking, similar to the aroma, the good sherry character and malty goodness are felt without any discomfort, with a well-balanced sweetness and acidity for a pleasant drinking experience. In recent years, it's become more common to find good sherry whiskies. Initially, I thought it was just my leniency, but clearly, there has been an increase in recent years.
