Ardbeg ARDBEG 1993-2015 22yo CADENHEAD SINGLE CASK 55.3%
Bottle #アードベッグ(ARDBEG)
A faint trace of old flavors in the sherried Ardbeg. Ardbeg ARDBEG 1993-2015 22yo CADENHEAD SINGLE CASK 55.3% The aroma is enveloping sherry, mild prune, American coffee, caramelized nuts, herbs, saltiness and metallic notes from the depth, seaweed-like qualities, sharp and strong smoky peat. When drinking, it has a powerful attack, pleasant sherry, rich sweetness of plum jam and caramel, the tannins of coffee tightening the flavor, strong metallic and chlorinated notes, sharp and intense peat, long finish with lingering concentrated fruits, metal, and peat. 【Very Good】 Cadenhead's single cask, the so-called gold label Ardbeg 1993, aged for 22 years. It is said that the supply to Japan was quite limited, and I also had my first taste of it. In both aroma and flavor, there is a sherry influence that is present but not dominant, and the unique nuances of Ardbeg such as saltiness and metallic notes, along with a sharp peat character, were clearly felt. The balance between the sweet fruits like prune and jam, caramel-like sweetness, and the astringency of coffee was also good. The long-lasting finish had a unique fruity, mineral, and peaty character that left an impression. At present, this is a well-developed sherried cask Ardbeg, but in the future, as the fusion of sherry, peat, and metallic notes progresses, it might develop into a scent reminiscent of older Ardbegs like Milroy's 1975 sherried cask. This glass was obtained from IAN in Mitsuukemae.
